Ranchi: The bail plea of Naxalite Kundan Pahan, who surrendered in the special court of NIA, has been postponed once again. The bail petition filed in the NIA court was scheduled to be heard today, but could not happen due to some unknown reason.
Kundan Pahan has applied for his bail, citing spending 4 years in judicial custody and surrendering under the surrender policy of the government as his reasons. He is accused of carrying out many incidents including the murder of former minister and the then MLA of Tamar, Ramesh Singh Munda, is currently in open jail Hazaribagh. According to Kundan Pahan’s advocate Ishwar Dayal Kishore, he has made the period of his custody the basis of bail.
It is known that this notorious Naxalite of Jharkhand, surrendered in the year 2017 under the surrender policy of the state government. After that, Kundan tried his luck in the last assembly elections by staying in jail but the public rejected him.
Apart from the robbery of 1 kg of gold including 5 crore cash, the murder of Special Branch Inspector Francis Indwar and former minister Ramesh Singh Munda, there are many more cases against Kundan Pahan. Jharkhand Police had placed a reward of Rs 15 lakh on him.
