Patna, Oct 18: National Investigation Agency (NIA) raids are underway at two locations in Phulwari Sharif and Patna on Tuesday in connection with the Popular Front of India (PFI) case.
A PFI “terror module” was discovered earlier this year by Bihar Police in the state’s Phulwari Sharif district, leading to the detention of three people, among them a retired Jharkhand police officer, for their alleged ties to the organisation and their intentions to engage in “anti-India” activities.

According to prior reports, investigational evidence showed that one of the accused in the case received money in the form of bitcoin from a foreign organisation. The cryptocurrency trade has gained significance as a result of concerns raised by numerous financial institutions and central banks regarding the financial dangers associated with the exchange of virtual currencies, including cryptocurrencies. This type of money has the potential to be utilised for many unsavoury purposes.
Shaktikanta Das, governor of the Reserve Bank of India, recently stated that cryptocurrencies are a clear hazard and that anything that generates value from conjecture, without any foundation, is only speculative activity going by a fancy name.
Earlier, the NIA searched the Jamia Maria Niswa Madrasa in the Purvi Champaran region of Bihar and detained a teacher by the name of Asghar Ali. Under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, NIA has filed a complaint.
In the Phulwari Sharif case, which names 26 people, Bihar Police have so far detained five people. During the Bihar Police’s raids in Phulwari Sharif, numerous questionable documents were found.
