Ranchi, June 23: The National Institute of Open Schooling has invited applications for admissions in Stream 2. Dr. Rajeev Prasad, Regional Director, NIOS Regional Center, Ranchi on Thursday said that admission under Stream-2 has started, the last date for which is July 15, 2022.

This is an online admission process, which can be done by visiting the NIOS portal https://sdmis.nios.ac.in. A special examination will be conducted for the unsuccessful candidates in class 10 and 12.

As per officials, students that fail in CBSE, ICSE, JAC and other boards in April/May of 2022 may apply for admission in Stream 2 to save their one year. The final examination of this stream is conducted in the month of October and the result is declared in the first week of December.

Other salient features of Stream 2 include the facility of transfer of credit provided to the candidates in a maximum of two subjects. Notably, both these subjects must be recorded in the marks certificate of the student.

Candidates can select only those subjects, for which they appeared in their previous boards. If any subject is not in the examination list of the institute, then the examinees can also choose other subjects. At the time of selection of subjects for admission, it is mandatory to select at least one language subject and one vocational subject.

However, TMA and PCP facility, along with the course material is not provided to the candidates taking admission under Stream 2. Previous years question papers and courses are available free of cost on the institute’s website which candidates can use as per the requirement.
