Nitish Cabinet Approves 34 Proposals Including Dismissals, New Posts Creation

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired a cabinet meeting today, during which the state government approved a total of 34 agendas, leading to key administrative decisions. The meeting focused on disciplinary actions, new post creations, and procedural reforms aimed at strengthening state governance.

Dismissal of Barbidha Executive Officer: The cabinet approved the dismissal of former executive officer Vijay Kumar from service, citing serious administrative grounds.

Termination of Sikta Circle Officer: Raman Rai, former Circle Officer of Sikta in West Champaran and currently posted as Assistant Settlement Officer in Kishanganj, was also dismissed from service.

Creation of New Posts in Urban Development Department: In a significant move, the cabinet sanctioned the creation of 663 non-technical posts for the efficient functioning of 71 offices under the Integrated Urban Engineering Organisation of the Urban Development Department. This will involve an annual expenditure of over ₹35 crore.

New Positions in Advocate General’s Office: Approval was granted for 34 permanent and 6 contractual positions at the Advocate General’s Office, totaling 40 new roles aimed at improving legal and administrative support.

Approval of Bihar Special Survey & Settlement Amendment Rules 2025: The cabinet greenlit the updated regulations for Bihar’s special survey and settlement processes under the revised 2025 guidelines.

Dynamic ACP for Dental Doctors: The cabinet approved the implementation of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (ACP) for dental doctors with effect from April 1, 2017, addressing long-standing demands in the medical sector.
