Patna, Sept 5: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday at the latter’s residence in Patna, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and former CM Rabri Devi.
“I have spoken with Lalu Yadav. I will be visiting Delhi, where I will be meeting President and vice-President. We will meet Rahul Gandhi in the evening,” he said before leaving for Delhi.
Notably, he will visit Delhi today to work for Opposition unity for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
He is expected to visit opposition leaders in the national capital in an attempt to rally them to battle the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This will be Kumar’s first visit since breaking with the BJP and joining forces with Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress, and other parties to establish a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ administration in Bihar.
The Janata Dal (United) had a two-day national executive and national council meeting before departing for a visit to Delhi.
