Ranchi: Vinay Singh, the owner of Nexgen and a key figure in the state’s liquor scam, has received significant interim relief from a special SC-ST court in Ranchi. The court has ordered a stay on any coercive action against him in a land dispute case filed under the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. However, this order does not provide him any protection in the ongoing liquor scam investigation, where he still faces the threat of arrest.
The Land Dispute Allegations
The case was initiated based on an FIR filed on June 19 by Sandhya Tirkey, a resident of Dibdih, Ranchi. She alleged that her 1.30 acres of ancestral land was illegally sold by co-accused Prabhavati Bina Noor Tigga. In her complaint, she named Nexgen Solutions Technology Pvt. Ltd. director Vinay Kumar Singh and several others, including Rosha Kerketta and builder Manjul Kerketta, accusing them of using the disputed land for commercial purposes. Vinay Singh’s counsel, Advocate Akshay Sharma, argued the case on his behalf.
No Relief in Liquor Scam
While the court’s order provides a temporary shield in the land dispute, it does not impact the separate investigation into the liquor scam. Vinay Singh is reportedly absconding due to fear of arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore liquor scandal. Therefore, despite the relief in the SC-ST case, the possibility of his arrest in the liquor scam case remains.
