Mumbai, Dec.22: Actress Nora Fatehi would testify for the prosecution in the money laundering case against conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
The Enforcement Directorate is investigating actors Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with a Rs 200-crore extortion case in which Sukesh Chandrasekhar is the main suspect. Both actors have been questioned by financial probe agencies on multiple occasions.
Nora Fatehi was allegedly given a BMW by conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, according to the ED. She then disclosed that Chandrashekhar had given her the automobile as well as a Gucci bag and an iPhone as a “symbol of affection” from his wife, Leena Maria Paul.
On October 14, Nora Fatehi was also confronted by Sukesh. The gift aspect was discussed during this time.
Nora then informed the ED that she had been invited to an event by Leena Maria Paul. The event took held in Chennai in December 2020.
Nora Fatehi had also released a statement on October 14 stating she was not involved in any money laundering schemes.
The statement said, “Nora Fatehi has been the victim around the case and being a witness, she is co-operating and helping the officers in the investigation. We would like to make it very clear that she has not been a part of any money laundering activity, she does not know or have any personal connection with the accused and has been called by the ED to strictly help with the investigation.”
