Daltonganj, October 23: The doctors and other personnel of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Palamu have not yet received their salary for the month of September.

The reason behind this is that the state health department did not delegate the power of drawing and disbursing to the stopgap civil surgeon-cum-chief medical officer Palamu Dr Vijay Kumar Singh.

Notably, Dr Vijay Kumar Singh started functioning as a civil surgeon and chief medical officer in Palamu, by an order of the DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde, on October 19.

There was a widespread hope that this stop-gap civil surgeon Dr Singh would be vested with the power of drawing and disbursing.

Till the time of filing of this report, no DD power has been delegated to Dr Singh.

When lagatar24.com this afternoon spoke to Dr Singh to know if he has been given DD power, he said, “Not till this hour”.
