New Delhi: A day after confronting the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha amid persistent sloganeering from opposition members. During his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted the completion of 10 years of NDA governance and projected a vision for the next two decades.

The Prime Minister stated, “The government has completed 10 years. It has 20 more years to go,” while accusing the opposition of attempting to overshadow the democratic choice of the people. Despite interruptions from opposition members chanting “Rajya Sabha ko radh karo, Jhooth bolna band karo” (Adjourn Rajya Sabha, Stop Lying), the Prime Minister continued his address.

The opposition staged a walkout during PM Modi’s reply to the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address. Reacting to this, PM Modi remarked that the opposition, unable to accept the mandate given by 140 crore people to the NDA, was resorting to shouting and leaving. The Rajya Sabha chairman also criticized the opposition for walking out during the Prime Minister’s speech.

During his address, PM Modi criticized the opposition on various issues, including women’s safety and Dalit rights, accusing them of ignoring incidents such as the public flogging of a woman in West Bengal and the Sandeshkhali events. Addressing the NEET exam irregularities, he assured the youth that the government would not spare those tampering with their future.

On Tuesday, PM Modi had addressed the Lok Sabha, where he criticized the INDIA bloc and Rahul Gandhi for their recent remarks on Hinduism and other issues. He accused Congress of trying to conceal its misdeeds by displaying a copy of the Constitution, emphasizing that people voted for the NDA as they trusted it to protect the Constitution.

Key points from PM Modi’s speech include:

  • Highlighting the economic and social reforms to be unveiled in the upcoming budget.
  • Emphasizing the benefits of women empowerment and the expansion of self-help groups.
  • Focusing on development rather than vote-bank politics.
  • Noting that the NDA’s PM-Kisan scheme benefited over 10 crore farmers, compared to the UPA’s loan waiver which benefited only 3 crore.
  • Mentioning the government’s efforts in strengthening the agriculture sector through micro-planning.
  • Predicting rapid transformation in public transportation and technological advancements in various sectors.
  • Committing to a decisive fight against poverty in the next five years.
  • Projecting India to become the third largest economy, positively impacting both domestic and global levels.

PM Modi asserted that the NDA government retained power for a third consecutive term after 60 years, reinforcing the people’s support for the work done by the BJP-led NDA government over the past decade.
