New Delhi, Jan 8: In less than a week after the vaccination drive for youngsters began, almost 2 crore teenagers in the age group of 15-18 years received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
According to provisional reports updated until 7 a.m., more than 90 lakh (90,59,360) vaccination doses have been administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered throughout the country to 150.61 crore (150,61,92,903).
“Great Going, my Young Friends. Over 2 crore youngsters between the 15-18 age group have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in less than a week of vaccination drive for children,” Mr Mandaviya tweeted.
According to health ministry officials, more than 91 percent of the country’s adult population has gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, with over 66 percent receiving both doses.
