Daltonganj, April 30: Palamu BJP today held a massive protest rally in Daltonganj over civic issues.

District BJP general secretary Shyam Babu said to lagatar24.com that it was a ‘pad yatra’ and ‘Jan Jagran’ against the total failure of the Hemant Soren government.

He said there is a serious crisis of electricity. Palamu continues to be at top of the hottest districts in the country here but the power scenario is dismal. The miserable power supply affects the water supply. There are pockets in the town of Daltonganj where the drinking water crisis is acute.

Shyam Babu said corruption is at the top of the Hemant Soren government. There is no office here in Jharkhand where corruption is not a pervading force.

The Palamu BJP is also concerned about land grabbing by the mafia in the district. He said musclemen are just looting the land of the poor.  “Incidents of theft have gone up here in Palamu,” said Shyam Babu.

A six-point charter of demands was handed to Palamu DC Shashi Ranjan today.

“Our protest rally was a part of our statewide stir against the failures of the Hemant Soren government,” Shyam Babu said.

The state BJP also sent its veteran MLA C P Singh from Ranchi to take part in this rally.

Palamu BJP MP V D Ram, BJP MLAs Alok Chourasia and Shashi Bhushan Mehta and district president Vijayanand Pathak and senior party leaders like Manoj Singh, Amit Tiwary, Binod Singh and others took part in this protest rally which went round the through fares of the town Daltonganj.
