Daltonganj, Sept 7: The written complaint against Panki BJP MLA Shashibhushan Mehta at Manatu police station has been converted into an FIR on September 2. The complaint was lodged by BDO Manatu Sunil Prakash.

Prakash said that the Manatu police have now registered it as an FIR. He said that he once or twice had asked the officer in charge of the Manatu police station about the fate of his complaint and used to get a stock-in trade reply from the Manatu police station that it was under investigation.

He added that he believes in the law of the land and that law will take its own course in time. He said he comes from a family of a judge and knows how to abide by law and respects it.

The officer in charge of the Manatu police station Pawan Kumar Yadav has confirmed that the complaint is now an FIR against the MLA. Yadav said the FIR number is 23/22 dated September 2.

He said the case has been instituted against the MLA under 11 different sections of the IPC and one section of the I-T Act too. Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha also confirmed it.

The BJP MLA Mehta when approached to have his version said he would hold a press conference and would explain everything. The MLA said he would not be giving his comment or reaction to the scribes individually.

According to the complainant Sunil Prakash, Mehta and his supporters had created ugly scenes in his residence on July 8 along with his few dozen of supporters wherein Sunil Prakash alleged barged into his home and he and his brother were insulted and pushed awkwardly and was accused of drinking wine.

Prakash said that despite the MLA invading his bedroom he still maintained the protocol.

He mentioned that he has some health issues and his salary is also put on hold since and is in dire straits. The scene created by MLA has destroyed privacy and rightful living of him in his residence.

Prakash said Manatu is the same block where in the nineties the then BDO Bhavnath Jha was butchered in his residence. He said the MLA ought to have refrained from such outrageous behaviour towards him and his brother.
