Daltonganj, Jan14: SDO (Sadar) Rajesh Kumar Sah and medical officer in-charge of the community health centre Chainpur Chaman Kumar Bhardwaj were out in the villages to take stock of the jabs today.

They found an epileptic person who was refusing to take the Covid vaccine. “I am epileptic. How can I take the vaccine? It may not do any good to me,” he said.

Dr Bhardwaj said: “We two had to convince this epileptic beneficiary not to delay his vaccination any more as it may affect his health in this raging covid infection. It was no easy task to get this epileptic beneficiary getting ready for the vaccination.”

“Our SDO tried hard to make this man believe that it would add to his health and he finally took the jab.”

The two then met a pregnant woman and she too was hesitant to take the jab fearing it may affect her child in her womb.

Dr Bhardwaj said he and the SDO convinced her that if she takes her vaccine her child in her womb will be far safer than if she does not take a jab. She after that took the jab.

Dr Bhardwaj informed that vaccination is nearing rounding up at least the first dose vaccination is concerned.

“We have a statistical chart which is on the higher side when we match it with the head count. For instance, Ramgarh primary health centre where as per the projected population we have done so far only 55 percent of the first dose of the vaccination but when we do head count of the vaccinated eligibles it pegs at 93 percent,” he said.

Chainpur has little over 100 villages and out of it 44+25 villages are already in a stage of getting declared of hundred percent first dose vaccinated eligibles.

SDO sadar said: “We need now to keep the momentum of vaccination high as ever.”

“If one asks about the number of vaccinations done today, it may come in a trickle for the simple reason that a large chunk of the eligibles stand first dose vaccinated now.” Dr Bhardwaj said.

“Worry and concern are the migrant workers as Chainpur is a block which is known more for floating workers all along the year. Our health Sahiyas, JLPS activists, NGOs etc are on bike locating the migrant workers who arrived here for the vaccination,” he added.
