Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Fog and mist would continue to prevail over Jharkhand in the morning and there is the possibility of a partly cloudy sky later. However, dry weather is most likely to prevail for the next 72 hours, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Notably, weathermen said no significant synoptic system exists over the state.
In the north and adjoining central parts of the state, light westerly to north-westerly wind, while in the rest parts; easterly to south-easterly wind would prevail in the next two days.
The western disturbance as a trough in the middle tropospheric level with its axis at 5.8 Km above means sea level was today running roughly along Long. 70°E to the north of Lat. 30°N.
The forecast also suggested a gradual rise in minimum temperature by 4-5 °C during the next four days.
An alert of shallow to moderate fog in the morning at isolated places over eastern and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand was also issued for the next two days.
Statistics revealed that the minimum temperature hovered between 6-7 degree Celsius at Deoghar and several other places in the Santhal Pargana region during the past 24 hours while Ranchi, Khunti, and several other places in central Jharkhand recorded a minimum temperature of 9 and 10 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature hovered around seven degree Celsius at Daltonganj and its adjoining areas.
