Partly cloudy sky, light rain and thunderstorm expected in isolated areas of Jharkhand today

Jamshedpur, May 26:  Light rain accompanied by lightning and thunder is expected at several places across Jharkhand today, said a weather bulletin issued by Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

The weather office also issued a nowcast (short-term forecast) of thunder and light rain in some places of north-western Jharkhand including Palamau.

The low-pressure trough was today running from northwest Uttar Pradesh to south Bangladesh across central Uttar Pradesh, south Bihar, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.

The north-south trough was running from Southeast Madhya Pradesh to coastal Karnataka across Vidarbha, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms occurred at isolated places while gusty wind was also experienced in some places over Jharkhand.

The highest gusty wind speed 59.2 kmph was recorded at Garhwa. The highest rainfall recorded was 21.5 mm at  Garhwa.

The highest maximum temperature of 42.5°C was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.2°C was recorded at Ranchi.

Weathermen hinted at dry weather and a gradual rise in Celsius after the next 48 – hours.
