Mumbai, April 8: Sanjay Raut, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and a member of parliament, stated that the comment made by NCP chief Sharad Pawar about the Adani issue would not affect the unity of the Opposition in Maharashtra and that the like-minded will continue to stand together against the BJP.

“We have known Sharad Pawar for a long time and we have seen his position on Gautam Adani from the very beginning. This doesn’t mean that there are any differences in the opposition unity. On the issue of whether there should be a JPC probe or a Supreme Court enquiry, he has a viewpoint. He may have a different view, but Shiv Sena will stand where the entire opposition is standing” said Raut

Notably, in an interview the NCP chief criticised the opposition’s push for a parliamentary investigation into the Adani Group.

The NCP leader will continue to be among the tallest opposition figures, according to Sanjay Raut, and he has the right to express his own opinions in a democracy. The political structure of Maharashtra has been severely damaged by Sharad Pawar’s remark rejecting the opposition’s intrusion into the Adani issue.

Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, made fun of the Congress and Uddhav Thackeray and urged the opposition to pay attention to Pawar’s advice.

The state administration said Sharad Pawar’s comments disproved Rahul Gandhi’s claim that the charges made by Hindenberg against the Adani group warranted an investigation by a Joint Parliamentary Committee.
