Ranchi, Jan 11: The saffron brigade MLA Naveen Jaiswal has alleged that the present government of Jharkhand is fooling poor people of the state by making green cards which is used to fill the pockets of grain dealers, officers and the government. This statement came to the fore during a press conference held today at the state BJP headquarters.
Naveen Jaiswal said that since the formation of the government, there was a campaign to make green cards in Jharkhand, under which the beneficiaries get 5 kg of food grains at Re 1 per person, but the reality is that there are scams in this too. Hundreds of people come every day and say that the government has duped us through this scheme. A green card cannot be used in schemes like Ayushman Yojana and children’s education.
“The exploitation done by the Food Supply Department in Jharkhand keeps appearing in the newspapers every day. Recently, a news came that a dealer, with the help of the department, did a scam of Rs 15 lakhs,” Jaiswal said.
The MLA said that the beneficiaries are not getting their dues. Paddy purchasing centre used to open every time on November 15, but this time it was opened on December 15. Farmers do not have a place to store paddy and in such a situation. 90 per cent of the farmers sell their paddy to middlemen for 10-12 rupees.
The MLA also alleged a scam in the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana run by the Central Government. He said that the Jharkhand government is doing scams in this scheme from day one. Beneficiaries are getting only 1 kg of food grains instead of 5.
“The grain which was supposed to be distributed in September 2021 has disappeared. On the other hand, the grain for the month of December has not been given in January so far,” Jaiswal added.
