New Delhi, Sept 23: The PFI-organized dawn-to-dusk hartal in Kerala government under way on Friday, and scattered instances of stone-pelting have been reported in different parts of the state.
The Islamic group Popular Front of India announced the strike after its top leaders were detained in a significant nationwide raid on Thursday.
The Kerala Police reported that they have increased security in the state and given the district police heads instructions to maintain peace and order in the midst of today’s bandh.

According to the police statement, the lawbreakers will face harsh punishment. Protesters vandalised a KSRTC bus at Companypadi, close to Aluva. Attacks against vehicles occurred in Thiruvananthapuram.
The publicly funded KSRTC has stated that business as usual will apply to its operations. If necessary, special transportation to hospitals, airports, and train stations will be set up, according to the KSRTC, which was quoted by the news agency PTI. The strike will go until 6 p.m., starting at 6 a.m.
