New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Congress, accusing the party of being deeply involved in corruption, particularly in Karnataka, where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is allegedly linked to the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) land scam. Speaking at a rally in Sonipat, Haryana, PM Modi said that Congress is the “mother of corruption” and highlighted the need for a proper investigation into the matter.
“It has only been two years, and just look at the Congress government in Karnataka. The chief minister is facing accusations of a land scam. When he appeared in the High Court, he was dismissed. The court stated that a proper investigation is necessary,” said Modi, drawing attention to Siddaramaiah’s alleged involvement.
Congress’ Corruption Allegations and Mismanagement
Modi didn’t limit his criticism to Karnataka. He recalled Congress’s rule in Haryana, accusing the party of handing over the state to “Dalals and Damads” (middlemen and in-laws). “Ten years ago, the farmers’ lands were looted under the Congress government here. They left no institution free of corruption,” Modi said, pointing to the rampant nepotism and corruption that plagued the state during Congress’s rule.
He further attacked the Congress for marginalizing disadvantaged communities like SC/ST/OBC, accusing the party of systematically denying them their rights. “Whenever Congress has been away from power, the poor and backward classes have received their due rights,” he said.
BJP’s Commitment to Farmers and Infrastructure Development
PM Modi also highlighted the BJP’s pro-farmer policies in Haryana, contrasting them with Congress’s alleged neglect. He pointed out that the BJP government has increased MSP (Minimum Support Price) for 24 crops, a stark difference from Congress’s previous stance.
“The BJP government is continuously taking decisions in the benefit of the farmers,” said Modi, while also emphasizing Haryana’s significant economic and infrastructure progress under the BJP.
Haryana as a “Medal Factory”
Recognizing Haryana’s contribution to sports, Modi praised the state as the “medal factory of India,” referencing its major contributions to national achievements in the Olympic and world games. He announced plans to build small Olympic nurseries in each district to nurture young talent, ensuring representation on international platforms.
