New Delhi, Sep 30: In 112 districts throughout the nation, the aspirational districts plan has altered the lives of more than 25 crore people, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday and its success will serve as the foundation for the aspirational blocks program.
At the Bharat Mandapam in this city, Modi made the comments as he introduced a special week-long program for aspirational blocks called “Sankalp Saptaah.”
The prime minister emphasised the significance of efficient resource utilisation, coordination and public involvement for development at the grass-roots level.
“The Aspirational Districts Programme has changed the lives of more than 25 crore people in 112 districts of the country. There has been a change in their quality of life,” Modi said.
The success of the aspirational districts plan will now serve as the foundation for the aspirational blocks programme, he added.
“Very few people get the chance to run a government for as long as I have. And I say from experience that it is not only that the budget brings change, if we ensure optimum utilisation of resources and convergence, then work can be done without any fresh funds coming in for the blocks,” Modi said.
The optimum use of resources, he continued, is a requirement for good governance.
The Aspirational Blocks Program’s effective implementation is related to “Sankalp Saptaah.” The nationwide program was started on January 7 by the prime minister.
The initiative seeks to elevate individuals’ quality of life by enhancing block-level governance. 500 aspirational blocks in 329 districts nationwide are putting it into practise.
Every day of the “Sankalp Saptaah,” which takes place from October 3 to October 9, is centered around a distinct development topic, around which all aspirational blocks will work.
‘Sampoorna Swasthya’, ‘Suposhit Pariwaar’, ‘Swachhta’, ‘Krishi’, ‘Shiksha’ and ‘Samridhi Diwas’ are the themes for the first six days, according to an official release.
On the last day, October 9, there will be a celebration known as “Sankalp Saptaah Samavesh Samaroh” to honour the work done during the whole week.
Around 3,000 panchayat and block-level people’s delegates and bureaucrats from all around the country will attend the inaugural ceremony in Bharat Mandapam.
Additionally, roughly two lakh individuals would participate virtually in the initiative, including farmers, bureaucrats at the block and panchayat levels and people from various backgrounds.
