Mandi, Dec 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a ceremony for 287 projects worth over Rs 28,197 crores in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi on Monday to mark the fourth anniversary of the state’s Jai Ram Thakur-led BJP government.

Earlier, PM Modi, accompanied by Union minister Anurag Thakur, visited an exhibition put up by various departments of the state government.

“There are two development models in the State. One is ‘Sabka saath, Sabka vikas & Sabka vishwas’. The other model is ‘Khud ka swarth, parivaar ka swarth’. Himachal Pradesh govt is working on the first model and has implemented many development programs in the state,” PM Modi while addressing a rally at the Paddal ground in Mandi.

“Himachal Pradesh is one of the most important pharma hubs in the country. During COVID19, the State has not only helped other States but also many countries,” PM Modi added.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated various Hydropower projects worth Rs 11,000 crores, including Dhaula Sidh hydropower & Renukaji dam projects.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the completion of the 40-megawatt hydropower project was only made possible by the collective effort of six states, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Delhi at the behest of the central government.

The Renukaji Dam is built at a cost of 7,000 crore and will optimally utilise the Himalayan region’s hydropower potential to bring benefits as far away as Delhi, which will be able to receive a water supply of around 500 million cubic metres per year.
