New Delhi, Sep 25: On the occasion of Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the man who served as a principal ideological inspiration for the BJP.
Upadhyaya, according to Modi, was devoted to serving the country for his whole life, and both his character and his work will continue to inspire people.
Upadhyaya, who was born in Mathura in 1916, co-founded the BJP’s predecessor organization, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and joined the RSS.
Modi frequently cites his integrated humanism ideology and, in particular, antyodaya (uplift of the most disadvantaged), as having had a significant impact on his politics and policies.
