Jamshedpur/Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted that modern facilities and infrastructure, once limited to a few cities, are now reaching every corner of India under the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with All, Development for All). Speaking after virtually inaugurating six new Vande Bharat Express trains and railway projects worth ₹650 crore in Jharkhand from Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport, he emphasized the nation’s shift in development priorities.

“Today, the country’s priority is the poor, the Adivasis, Dalits, backward communities, farmers, women, and the youth,” Modi stated. He added that every state and city now desires high-speed trains like the Vande Bharat Express. “Just a few days ago, I flagged off three new Vande Bharat trains in North and South India. These six new trains will strengthen the economy of Eastern India, benefiting businessmen, students, and enhancing economic and cultural activities,” he said.

Due to inclement weather and heavy rains in Jamshedpur, the Prime Minister was delayed at Ranchi airport for over two hours as his helicopter remained grounded. He later traveled by road to Jamshedpur to address the BJP’s Parivartan rally.

The newly inaugurated trains include:

  • Tatanagar-Patna Vande Bharat Express
  • Deoghar-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express
  • Tatanagar-Brahmapur Vande Bharat Express
  • Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
  • Gaya-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
  • Rourkela-Tatanagar-Howrah Vande Bharat Express

In addition, Modi laid the foundation stones for a new coaching depot in Hazaribagh and a bypass line in Madhupur, Deoghar. He also inaugurated the 24.4 km Kurkura-Kanrowa railway line project and 16 underpasses in the state.

With Jharkhand set to go to elections in a few months, the Prime Minister transferred funds as the first installment for building homes under the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-Gramin) to 8,000 beneficiaries in the state. “We have sanctioned 1.13 lakh homes for the poor under the scheme in Jharkhand,” Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced at the function.
