Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Washington at 3.30 a.m. as Indian time on Thursday and was received at the airport by US officials and Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu. At the same time, a large number of people of the Indian community were also present to welcome Modi.
Modi will also meet Apple CEO Tim Cook and heads of companies like Qualcomm, Adobe and Blackstone at the hotel today. This will be followed by bilateral talks with Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia and Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga of Japan. After this, he will meet Vice President of America Kamala Harris. In this, talks will be held on the common interests of India and America.
The Prime Minister will meet US President Joe Biden in Washington on September 24. This will be the first time that the two leaders will meet face-to-face. Apart from this, there will be a meeting of the leaders of the Quad countries at the White House on Friday itself. Modi will then leave for New York and address the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly there on September 25.
