Prayagraj: The Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has drawn an enormous crowd of devotees, with over 34.97 crore pilgrims taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam over the past 22 days. The Uttar Pradesh Information Department reported that the third and final Amrit Snan took place on Basant Panchami, witnessing a surge in participation.
PM Modi’s Visit to Prayagraj
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Prayagraj on February 5, where he will take a holy dip at the Sangam as part of the Mahakumbh festivities. His visit will follow a tight schedule:
• 10:00 AM – Arrival at Prayagraj Airport
• 10:30 AM – Travel to DPS Helipad
• 10:45 AM – Proceed to Arel Ghat and take a boat to Mahakumbh area
• 11:00 AM – Perform the holy dip at Triveni Sangam
• 11:45 AM – Return to Arel Ghat and depart for DPS Helipad
• 12:30 PM – Departure to Delhi via Indian Air Force aircraft
Congress Leader Pramod Tiwari’s Reaction
Senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari took a jibe at PM Modi’s visit, alleging that it is politically motivated. He claimed that since the Delhi elections are underway, the BJP is attempting to influence the electoral process through this event.
Tiwari further demanded that PM Modi question the Uttar Pradesh government regarding the stampede incidents at the Mahakumbh, insisting that he should seek accountability for the exact number of casualties.
