New Delhi, Feb 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the ‘Gobar-Dhan (Bio-CNG) Plant’ in Indore (Madhya Pradesh) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. via video conferencing.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) informed that PM Modi recently launched the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0, with a vision of creating ‘garbage free cities’.
According to information, the Bio-CNG factory in India’s cleanest city was built on the waste-to-wealth philosophy.
The mission is being carried out in accordance with the underlying ideas of ‘waste to wealth’ and ‘circular economy’ for resource recovery, both of which are demonstrated in the Indore Bio-CNG facility.
The plant is based on zero-landfill models, which means that no rejects are produced. In addition, the project is predicted to provide a number of environmental benefits, including reduced greenhouse gas emissions, green electricity, and organic compost as fertiliser.
Indore Clean Energy Pvt Ltd, a Special Purpose Vehicle created to implement the project, was established under a Public-Private Partnership model by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) and Indo Enviro Integrated Solutions Ltd. (IEISL) with a 100% capital investment of Rs 150 crores by IEISL, according to an official release.
