Patna, Jan 11: Farmer’s protest in Buxar for compensation for land acquisition for a thermal power plant on Wednesday descended into violence. Villagers demanding a better price for the land being acquired for Chausa Power Plant attacked a police party and set a car on fire.

The police used a lathi-charge to try and contain the situation, but when the locals started acting violently, they had no choice but to start shooting.
