Patna, June 9: A Bihar couple begged on the streets for Rs 50,000 to be able to release their son’s body from a government hospital in Samastipur. The couple was requested to pay a bribe of Rs 50,000 for their son’s body by a hospital employee. The video of them begging on the streets went viral on social media. The couple’s son had gone missing, and officials later discovered his body.

The video stirred an uproar among people. In response to the findings, famous electoral strategist-turned-political activist Prashant Kishor attacked Nitish Kumar, the Bihar chief minister, for his boasts of “sushasan,” or excellent government.

“Humanity is ashamed, yet #NitishKumar’s claim of good governance is intact!!!” Kishor tweeted in Hindi.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a Shiv Sena MP, urged Nitish Kumar to take strong action against the hospital, calling the revelation “devastating to the core.”

“Faith in humanity dies a little every single day. This is depressing to the core, are these hospitals even ashamed of themselves? I urge Hon. CM @NitishKumar Ji to take strict action against the hospital,” the Rajya Sabha member wrote on Twitter.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a Shiv Sena MP, urged Nitish Kumar to take strong action against the hospital, calling the revelation “devastating to the core.”

According to ANI, civil surgeon Dr SK Chaudhary of Sadar Hospital promised stern action against those found accountable. The allegations, according to the extra district magistrate, were deemed to be false after a preliminary investigation.
