Islamabad, Nov 4: Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and a former prime minister, was shot in Wazirabad on Thursday, which led to demonstrations in Karachi and other areas of Sindh.

Several of Khan’s close friends were also injured in the burst of an automatic rifle, however he only sustained injuries to his legs.

Large groups of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf members marched to the streets, burned tyres, staged sit-ins, stopped important roads, and caused gridlock on nearly all of the city’s main thoroughfares. As soon as it was reported that the PTI chairman had been attacked, party members began holding protests throughout the city.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan was hospitalised on Friday and is recovering after being shot in the leg during an attempted assassination.
