Chandigarh, May 24: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann sacks state’s Health Minister Vijay Singla following complaints of corruption against him. Singla had allegedly demanded a 1% commission from officials for contracts.
“Health Minister Vijay Singla was demanding a 1% commission from officials for contracts. Concrete evidence found against Singla,” said Punjab CMO.
Only the second time in the country’s history has a Chief Minister taken such drastic measures against a cabinet colleague. Arvind Kejriwal has already fired one of his ministers on corruption charges in 2015.
