Amritsar, Jan 29: AAP’s CM face Bhagwant Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate in Punjab, filed his candidacy today from the Dhuri assembly constituency.

“I have come here to file my nomination… I urge the people to help me and Aam Aadmi Party win from Dhuri in Punjab polls; hoping to receive great support,” Bhagwant Mann said when he arrived at SDM office for filing his nomination earlier today.

Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP’s national convenor, announced Mann as the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the Punjab Assembly elections on January 18.

“The AAP has decided that its chief ministerial candidate for the Punjab elections in 2022 will run from the Dhuri constituency,” Chadha said to reporters.

Mann, a comedian-turned-politician, is a two-time Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from the Sangrur parliamentary seat. Congress MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy currently represents the Dhuri assembly seat, which is part of the Sangrur parliamentary constituency.

Assembly elections in Punjab will be held on February 20. The counting of votes will be done on March 10.
