New Delhi, March 28: BJP launched a fresh attack on Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, saying that his unwillingness to apologise for his ‘indecent’ remarks to the OBC community is yet another ‘manifestation’ of the Gandhi family’s political arrogance.
Rahul Gandhi allegedly tried to “tear” apart the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani. She claimed during a news conference, “Congress leader will not succeed because the people of the country are behind the Prime Minister.”
“In an interview with a magazine in 2019, Gandhi in his own words had claimed that Modi’s greatest strength is his image and that he would will rip his image apart,” Irani said.
“The political psychosis of Rahul Gandhi is at full display. He abused and accused PM Modi in Parliament but could not verify his own statement by authenticating it with his own signature,” she said.
Rahul Gandhi is so politically frustrated that a promise he made could not be kept that he keeps attacking Prime Minister Modi, the BJP leader claimed.
“So Rahul Gandhi your promise made to a magazine editor that you will rip PM Modi’s image apart is a promise that shall remain unfulfilled because Narendra Modi’s greatest strength is the people of India,” Irani said.
She made reference to his conviction and punishment for criminal defamation and stated that “Rahul Gandhi could not develop the humility to beg for the forgiveness of the OBC community in our country is just another manifestation of a political arrogance called the Gandhi family”.
