New Delhi, May 26: Rahul Sharma, a senior IPS officer, has been appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the CBI, while four officials serving as Superintendents of Police have been promoted, per official directives.

According to a Personnel Ministry decision, Sharma, an officer of the 2009-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) of the Haryana cadre, has been inducted for a five-year term.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has appointed four personnel to the position of DIG: Amanjeet Kaur, Nirmala Devi S, Abhinav Khare, and Ashok Kumar.

While Kumar is an Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) official from the 2006 batch, Kaur, Nirmala Devi S, and Khare are all 2009 batch IPS officers.

These officers were already working as SPs in the probe agency.

Additionally, the CBI’s DIGs, Raghvendra Vatsa and Gagandeep Gambhir, have had their terms extended till November 17, 2023, and November 24, 2023, respectively.

Another order said that Murali Rambha’s tenure with the agency as an SP had been extended by a year, until July 7 of the following year.
