Jaipur, Nov 21: After two years and 11 months of the formation of the government, a major reshuffle is taking place in the cabinet of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Through the cabinet reshuffle, an attempt has been made to reconcile the caste, regional and internal political equations of the Congress party. Gehlot has not dropped anyone except 3 ministers with two posts, along with 11 new cabinet ministers and 4 ministers of state.
Three Dalit ministers- Mamta Bhupesh, Bhajanlal Jatav, Tikaram Julie have been promoted from minister of state to cabinet minister. There have been four Dalit faces including Govind Meghwal in the cabinet. For the first time in the Gehlot government, 4 Dalit ministers have been made. Behind every face there is an attempt to create a different political equation. However, many political issues still remain to be resolved.
All the newly appointed 15 ministers will take oath at 4 p.m. at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur.
In the reshuffle, special attention has been paid to the core vote bank of the Congress. The MLAs of the Pilot camp have also got a place in the new cabinet due to the sharing formula, while Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena, close to Pilot, have been re-entered. Ramlal Jat has been given a chance as a Jat leader.
Now there are 29 ministers in the Gehlet cabinet, now the quota of 30 including CM has been completed, not a single place is vacant
There will be a total of 15 ministers-
11 cabinet ministers: Hemaram Chaudhary, Mahendrajit Singh Malviya, Ramlal Jat, Mahesh Joshi, Vishvendra Singh, Ramesh Meena, Mamta Bhupesh, Bhajanlal Jatav, Tikaram Julie, Govind Meghwal, Shakuntala Rawat
4 MoS: Zahida, Brijendra Ola, Rajendra Gudha and Murarilal Meena
Meanwhile, Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed his satisfraction over the move and stated that the inclusion of four Dalit Ministers in the Cabinet has sent out a positive message about the party and the state government.
