New Delhi, Dec1: The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday adjourned for the day as the opposition continued ruckus over the suspension of the 12 MPs.

This was the fourth adjournment of Rajya Sabha during its four-hour long proceedings that started at 11 am. Earlier, the upper house was adjourned till 3 pm. A few minutes after that Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat resumed his speech on the need for the safety of dams across the country. The Union Minister moved the Dam Safety Bill, 2019 in the Upper House.

Seeking permission to the Chair to speak only for three minutes, Kharge said: “On behalf of opposition parties, I will seek the attention of the House over suspension of 12 members,” to which Deputy Chairman Harivansh rejected the plea, saying “he cannot allow speaking on the matter as the issue has already been discussed in a meeting yesterday and decision has been taken”.

Meanwhile, the opposition including Congress, AAP and DMK created ruckus in the house seeking revocation of the suspension of 12 MPs. Opposition party members demonstrated their protest by standing in the house during the proceeding and raising slogans.
