Ramgarh, Nov 14: A Baal Mela was organized on Monday at DAV Barkakana on the school premises on the occasion of Children’s Day. The event was organised after a gap of two years due to Corona pandemic.
Chief Guest Swaranmanjari along with the other members of Prerna Mahila Mandal inaugurated the Mela.
On this occasion, a special school assembly was organized where Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s contributions and his role in the Non-Aligned Movement, Panchsheel Pact and Civil Disobedience Movement were discussed. Children were also made aware of the institutions established by Nehru.
Dance and music programmes were also organized by the teachers for the entertainment of the children. Principal Dr Urmila Singh in her address explained why Children’s Day is celebrated only on the birth anniversary of Pandit Nehru. She said that Nehru believed that children have the qualities of brotherhood, creativity, tolerance and love, which are those essential virtues that will take India on the path of development.
Thereafter, the food stalls were opened for the children. The celebration ended with the dance of children to Hindi movie songs and the distribution of gifts among them.
