Ramgarh, March 27: Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra has asked Civil Surgeon Dr Prabhat Kumar to regularly conduct surprise checks at the ultrasound centres running in different blocks of the district and make the test reports available at the district level.
The DC also instructed him to seal the ultrasound centres which are being operated illegally and take strict action against the ultrasound centres which are not following the rules.
At a meeting organized today under the provisions of the PC & PNDT Act / Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Gender Selection) Act, 1994, the DC asked the Civil Surgeon to inform the operators about the need to regularly provide reports at the district level. She also instructed him to list those who are not getting it done and to ensure strict action against them.
She also asked the civil surgeon and other health officials to match the online and offline entries related to ultrasound during the investigation and take strict action against the concerned if any difference is found.
The DC also directed the Civil Surgeon to provide the report after completing the entire investigation process regarding the renewal of ultrasound machines and installation of new ultrasound machines.
Besides the Civil Surgeon, District Public Relations Officer Dr Asim Kumar, DRCHO Dr Mahalakshmi Prasad, Advocate Vignesh Dubey along with members of non-governmental organizations (NGO) were present at the meeting.
