Ramgarh, Feb 21: The principal of Chitarpur College, Ramgarh Dr Sangya today said that it is necessary to attract the new generation to get knowledge in their respective mother tongue like Urdu, Hindi and Khortha.
She said these during the one-day seminar titled “Need and Importance of Education in Mother Tongue” which was organised by the Urdu Department at Chitarpur College.
The Urdu department’s Head Professor Shahnawaz Khan said that students should not feel inferior and should make their mother tongue the medium of education and should not think that their future will be dark but should think that their future will be bright.
He added that many students with Urdu mother tongue have achieved things in life and are doing well in IAS, IPS, MBBS, CA and Engineering. A great example is the example of 2010 IAS topper Shah Faesal.
The Head of the Hindi Department, Prof Uttam Kumar said that in the 21st century, everyone’s priority is to teach English to their children, but we should not forget that Britishers also teach their children in their mother tongue i.e. English.
Prof Niranjan Mahato, Head of the Department of Khortha, said that it is necessary to attract students to make the Mardi language the medium of education.
