Ramgarh: Man sent to jail for raping minor girl on pretext of birthday party

Ramgarh, Oct 22: A case of rape of a minor girl has come to light in Golpar ward number 2 of Ramgarh district. 43-year-old Nawab Barkatullah Arfi, a resident of Golpar, has been arrested for raping a minor (17-year-old) girl.

A case was registered in the Mahila Police Station Ramgarh on Friday and the accused was forwarded to judicial custody.

Father of the victim girl said that the accused called his daughter on the pretext of a birthday party, fed her intoxicants and then raped her. The accused also recorded obscene videos and photos. Later, he was pressurizing the girl to have a physical relationship and get married by blackmailing her.

When the said photos and videos went viral, an FIR was lodged against the accused.

Women police station in-charge Menjari Birua said that by registering case number 22/22 regarding the matter, section 76 of IPC and section 4/8 of the POCSO Act have been imposed on the accused.
