Ramgarh, April 9: A fierce fight broke out between two factions of the sailors’ association at Patratu Dam, a tourist destination in Jharkhand on Sunday. Sticks were used by both groups of sailors. More than 25 people got injured.
All the injured have been admitted to a private hospital and community health centre in Patratu for treatment. Five severely injured persons have been referred to the RIMS. After the incident, there was chaos among the people who came to visit. People started running here and there. Some people quickly left with their families.
People of two groups of sailors union Jiaul and Mahfuz clashed with sticks on some issues. All the injured have been admitted to the local hospital Sai Nursing Home and Community Health Center Patratu. The injured have a deep head injury.
Patratu police reached the spot and started questioning. On the other hand, Jiaul of the Sailors Union said that Patratu police were informed on Saturday night that there is tension in the dam premises, and a dispute can happen there anytime.
According to the information, a Navik Sangh group was leaving its place and setting up a boat and steamer at another place about which there was a heated discussion at first and the controversy increased in no time. After this, there was a fierce fight between the people of Jiaul and Mahfuz groups in which many people were injured.
