Ramgarh, Oct 20: Yogendra Saw, former Jharkhand agriculture minister cum ex-Barkagaon MLA, was held captive on Thursday in Malani village of Bhurkunda OP area under Ramgarh district.

The villagers had kept the ex-MLA hostage since 5 am due to a land dispute. He had reached there to get possession of land (about 2 acres 42 decimals). The villagers got angry on seeing Sao and surrounded him from all sides.

Women also raised slogans against him and a protest was held on that land with banners and posters. On seeing the crowd of angry people, the former minister sat in his car for about 2 hours. The dispute increased so much that people were not even allowing him to go back.

On getting information about the ruckus, the police reached the spot and somehow sorted out the matter. Afterwards, Yogendra Sao was sent back.

Notably, Sao came out of the jail on Sept 7 after getting bail from the Jharkhand High Court.
