Ranchi, Sept.19: Back-to-back two bombs were recovered from the capital city within a week. One was recovered from a shop in the Pundag OP area today while another was recovered a week ago from Madhukam under the Sukhdeo Nagar police station area.
Though the bomb disposal squad of Jharkhand Jaguar diffused both the bombs and it is said that they were country-made, it exposed the rising morale of the criminals in the heart of the city which recently witnessed a clash between the communal mob and the police.
Neither Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore nor SP (city) Anshuman Kumar took the call given for their comments on the matter, a police official said with the recovery of two bombs within a week senior officers are tensed and have alerted officer-in-charges of all the police station to remain extra vigilant.
A city resident, who did not want to be identified, said it appears that criminals have no fear of police.
“During the past few days, incidents coming to the fore suggest that police have limited their role to nab the criminals after they commit. There is nothing live preventive or predictive policing. Trouble mongers enter in the college and school campus and assault teachers, thieves enter the house campus and take out petrol from bikes and steal iron pipes of state agencies engaged in house construction work,” the resident said.
The resident said Pundag police station is the same from where an officer in charge was suspended for delaying the registration of FIR for a year.
