Ranchi, Sept 11: The members of the Road Safety Committee, under the aegis of the District Transport Department informed the National Credit Corps (NCC) regarding important steps to be taken for road safety on Sunday.
The members of the NCC were further informed of the Golden Hour, and the government’s decision to award anyone with Rs 5000 that brings an injured person to the nearest health facility within one hour of the accident.
The cadets were also informed of the importance of an ISI mark on a helmet. The committee members said that a helmet reduces the chances of a serious injury by 70 percent.
During the discussion about Golden Hour, it was revealed that if first aid is received within an hour of any kind of road accident, or if anyone injured is taken to a private hospital, then more than half the lives in road accidents can be saved.
Notably, doctors believe that if someone injured is brought to a hospital within one hour of the accident, it is easier to save someone and is more likely that the patient will be saved. This is because reaching the hospital within the time may lead to the injured getting appropriate treatment before they get serious or critical.
District Transport Officer Praveen Kumar Prakash and Traffic DSP Jeetvahan Oraon, DR SM Jamal Ashraf Khan, Road Engineer Gaurav Kumar were present.
