Ranchi, Dec 13: Hospitals in Ranchi will soon be able to issue birth and death certificates as the statistics department has already prepared a proposal regarding this and has sent it to the DC. According to the proposal, all the hospitals which come under Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will be directly connected to the corporation.

A green signal by the Ranchi DC is awaited on this proposal after which employees of hospitals will be given proper training for uploading necessary papers on time. Once all the necessary documents are uploaded, the certificates can be issued within two to three days from the hospital.

As per the proposal, all the hospitals which come under RMC will be connected to the municipal corporation’s login. On the birth of a child in the hospital, the hospital management will upload all the necessary documents along with an application in the login of the Municipal Corporation where the registrar will check all the papers and prepare the certificate and upload it in the login of the hospital.

From there, the parents of a child can easily get access to the certificate. The same process will work for death certificates as well. If the scheme proposed by the Statistics Department gets the green signal from DC, then not only will people get the certificates on time, but fraudsters will also not be able to make fake certificates.

Whether it is the birth of a child or the death of a person, the certificate has to be made in both circumstances. A birth certificate is needed from taking admission to school or to get a job. While withdrawing money from LIC, the death certificate of the person who has died in a property-related case is required. The more important these documents are, the more complicated it is to get these certificates made.

Notably, RMC is responsible for making these certificates, but the certificate is issued only after the verification of the statistics officer and the magistrate, for which the common people have to struggle a lot.

The time limit for making these certificates is seven days. But the applicants go around the municipal corporation and magistrate office for months. To overcome these problems, a new plan has been proposed.
