Ranchi, May 2: Tridip Mishra, the Additional Registrar, Registrar of Assurance, Kolkata, is said to have passed the buck on the Inspector General (Registration) for manufacturing fake documents for lands located in Ranchi and thus facilitating illegal transfer of army, government and also private land.
According to sources, Mishra, who was interrogated by the ED here today in connection with the huge land scam in Ranchi, told the central agency that he had apprised the IG of the modus operandi being adopted by the land sharks, thus washing off his hands.
Mishra, however, had no answer when the ED sleuths confronted him whether any enquiry was ordered or disciplinary action was taken against any erring official who tampered with the documents to create fake owners of land pieces. The ED had brought this fraud to the knowledge of the Kolkata registry officials after it conducted a raid on this office on February 15 last.
Notably, the ED had found the following documents were tampered to create fictitious owners of the above properties.
- Register containing sale deed no. 4369 of year 1932 related
to property MS Plot 557, P.S No. 192 at Morabadi, Ranchi
(volume I08 of 1932)
2. Register containing sale deed no. 184 of year 1948 related
to property RS Plot no. 28 of village Gari, Ranchi (volume
24 of 1948)
3, Register containing sale deed no. 1813 of year 1943 related
to property MS Plot 668, Khata no. 29, PS No. 192 at
Morabadi, Ranchi (volume 48 of 1943).
Notably, the ED had grilled Ranchi’s land sub-registrar Vaibhav Mani Tripathy yesterday. Tripathy’s revelation has established that there has been huge land scam in Ranchi when Chhavi Ranjan was deputy commissioner.
The ED investigation has proved that non-saleable government land, Army land and even private lands have been acquired by a group of persons forging the records and creating fraudulent documents and by tampering the records available at the concerned land record Authorities.
The ED, in the meantime, will grill the five realtors and land brokers on May 3. They included Shyam Singh Bhatia from Jamshedpur besides Shekhar Kushwaha, Priyaranjan Sahay and Vipin Singh from Ranchi.
The ED will again grill Chhavi Ranjan on May 4 and Vishnu Agrawal on May 8.
