Ranchi: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Sandeep Singh addressed key civic issues, including the ongoing hunger strike, water crisis, and tax collection. He assured that the demands of protesters are under review, and a committee meeting will be held soon to decide on the matter.

No New Schemes, Focus on Existing Projects

When asked about the launch of new projects, Commissioner Singh clarified that no new schemes are currently in the pipeline. Instead, the corporation is prioritizing the effective implementation of existing plans to improve civic amenities.

Water Supply Plan for Summer

With rising temperatures and water scarcity becoming a major concern, RMC has partnered with PHED to ensure an uninterrupted water supply during the summer. A detailed mapping of water-deficient areas is being conducted to ensure timely water distribution in affected zones.

Ongoing Drainage and Sewer Cleaning Operations

Addressing concerns about waterlogging and drainage issues, the commissioner assured that sewer cleaning work is ongoing. Additionally, repair work is being carried out in critical areas to prevent flooding during the monsoon season.

Increased Tax Collection and Action Against Defaulters

Speaking about RMC’s financial situation, Commissioner Singh stated that government funds are being receivedunder various schemes, and there has been a notable increase in tax collection. Strict action is being taken against tax defaulters, with notices being issued to those who have not paid holding tax or other municipal dues. The campaign against defaulters will continue to improve revenue collection.
