Ranchi, April 28: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will soon be providing GPS bands to its 1,800 sweepers to monitor their location and work.

With the help of the tracker, the RMC officials will be able to track the location of the sweepers. Apart from that, the officials will also be able to call and instruct the sweepers.

Rajnish Kumar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of RMC spoke to lagatar24.com and explained the initiative taken by RMC.

“With the help of the band, it will become easy for us to monitor them and track their location. Initially, we have planned to provide the GPS bands to 1,800 sweepers within a targeted period of one week,” the deputy commissioner said.

Ranchi Municipal Corporation is constantly taking steps to technologically update its employees. The RMC has also planned to provide body warm cameras for its enforcement team.

The 1,800 sweepers to initially get the GPS bands will work in different localities of the city so that it would be easy to monitor them via the device.
