Ranchi, April 17: Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surendra Jha has constituted an SIT which is being headed by City SP Anshuman Kumar to investigate the murder of Rinku Khan, the husband of ward 17 councillor Shabana Khatoon who was shot dead by unidentified criminals on Saturday evening.
Ranchi Police have picked up a builder named Murshid for questioning; besides two other people are also being questioned by the police. Ranchi Police team is also investigating the matter keeping in mind many other points.
The entire incident of murder has been captured in the CCTV footage which clearly shows that a total of four people are coming from two bikes and after coming right near the camera the bike coming from behind is firing at the person sitting on the bike in front.
Rinku Khan was shot at around 7:45 pm on Saturday evening by unknown criminals near Hafeez Chowk of Hindpiri Second Street after which they fled towards Lake Road. Two bike-borne criminals fired four bullets at Rinku.
After leaving builder Murshid’s house, Rinku was returning to his house by scooty when the crime was carried out. After firing, Naushad, who was driving the scooty, along with the local people took him to Alam Hospital, from where he was referred to Medica, but he died on the way.
