Ranchi, May 5: The body of a private security guard was recovered hanging from the ceiling fan of his room in a park of Ranchi Municipal Corporation located in sector 6 of Harmu Housing Colony under the Argora police station area on Thursday.

The primary investigation suggested it was a case of suicide, but police have started a probe into the matter.

“Morning walkers noticed him hanging in his room in the park around 9 a.m.,” said the officer-in-charge of Argora police station Vinod Kumar.

The officer further said that the guard was hanging with a school bag on his back. His feet touched the ground while four plastic chairs, kept one on top of the other, were lying in front of him.

OC Kumar said the picture suggests that the guard might have used the plastic chairs to tie a rope from the ceiling to commit suicide. However, so far, police have not recovered any suicide note. Apart from these complete details of the security guard have also to be ascertained yet.

“We have started an investigation in the matter. Before the investigation gets completed it is difficult to give any conclusive statement,” OC Kumar said.
