Ranchi, Aug.23: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Regional Office on Tuesday hosted a state-level workshop on “Recent Initiatives for Simplifying Aadhaar Usage” for the State of Jharkhand as part of efforts to promote Aadhaar usage by states. Arun Kumar Singh, the Jharkhand development commissioner, presided over the session. The session was attended by several top authorities from the Jharkhand government, banks, BSNL, NIC, Department of Posts, and officials from the Centre Government.
Senior Jharkhand state government officials of note include Secretaries Rahul Sharma of the Planning and Development Department, Himani Pandey of the Food Processing Department, and KN Jha of the Information Technology and E-Government Department.
The workshop’s four sessions covered Aadhaar features, significant advancements in Aadhaar usage, best practices for the state of Jharkhand, data privacy, and information security.
Notably, direct benefit transfers and the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System were discussed in a presentation by the National Payment Corporation of India. The lectures went into detail about various Aadhaar online services and how UIDAI has worked to make enrolment and update processes painless for the locals.
Akhilesh Kumar Gupta, director general of the UIDAI Ranchi regional office, spoke at the event and claimed that Aadhaar would bring about a digital revolution not just in India but throughout the world since many nations are eager to adopt this technology.
Meanwhile, Aadhaar has evolved into the hub of India’s digital public infrastructure, according to Gupta. He continued by saying that UIDAI is constantly working to make Aadhaar usage simpler.
The fundamental qualities and uniqueness of Aadhaar were explained by the deputy director general of UIDAI, who also noted that it is inexpensive to verify Aadhaar both online and offline.
More programmes would be covered by Aadhaar, according to development commissioner Singh, and the State Government is working on it.
According to secretary Sharma, Aadhaar is a necessity that enables government agencies to engage residents directly and provide them with a range of benefits, services, and subsidies.
Aadhaar has made life simpler and allowed for the monitoring of government initiatives, According to secretary Pandey.
Secretary Jha claimed that the government has been able to get rid of duplicates thanks to Aadhaar.
